Apple hints at the first dual-port USB-C power adapter

Apple isn’t exactly known for its latest power adapters — the company took a long time to adopt gallium nitride (for the current MacBook Pro), often sticking with basic 5-watt iPhone adapters while chargers inside the case were still a thing. However, the company may be willing to explore “new” areas.

9to5Mac and AppleInsider reported that Apple briefly posted a support document for the “35W Dual USB-C Port Power Adapter” on its website. employment

Although this overview doesn’t include many pictures or details, the accessory will support the USB Power Delivery fast charging standard.

It’s unclear if the bricks will use GaN or offer any special features. However, 35W suggests that this will be for mobile devices rather than Macs. You can quickly charge your iPhone 13 Pro Max (which supports up to

to 27W) while leaving enough power for your Apple Watch or AirPods. Multi-port chargers aren’t exactly a rarity in the third-party market, but that might be attractive if you’re insisting on an official solution.

It’s also uncertain when Apple might release the two-port power adapter. This is not the type of product that will get screen time at an event like WWDC, and there is no guarantee that it will appear alongside a higher level device. While this apparent slip might hint at an imminent launch, this slippage might take months.
