Although present in many companies, especially in the United States, Apple devices are not unanimous in the corporate world. Despite its high durability, product quality and good resale price, many companies were (and still are) afraid of acquiring them.

But, somehow, this scenario is changing — at least that’s what it shows a recent survey [PDF] promoted by Dimensional Research, sponsored by Kandji.

Dimensional Research provides practical market research for technology companies; Kandji is an Apple device management and security platform.

The main objective of the research was to capture concrete data regarding the experiences and opinions of employees at large companies in relation to Apple devices. An online questionnaire was sent to independent sources of IT professionals responsible for deploying and managing employee devices in large companies.

A quota has been established to guarantee a minimum of 100 C-level executives (CIO, CTO, CISO, etc.). Several questions were asked regarding current usage and opinions regarding Apple devices, including notebooks and desktops (Macs), iPhones and iPads. The survey was conducted in English and responses were collected between May 25 and June 2, 2023.

A total of 315 qualified participants completed the survey. They all had direct responsibility for selecting, delivering, or managing Apple devices to employees, and worked at companies with more than 500 end-user devices and more than 1,000 employees. Participants represented a wide variety of hierarchical levels, sectors and global regions.

Themes such as:

  • How has the use of Apple devices in large companies changed over time?
  • What business advantages do they provide users?
  • How do IT professionals perceive the productivity and security of Apple devices compared to other options?
  • What is the status of existing device management technology for Apple devices?

Many interesting data can be found in the research findings. Let’s list some of them.

The data reinforces the company’s growth also at the corporate level and might mean greater expansion for this segment. Who knows, this greater demand for companies might spark Apple’s interest in investing in more software and app options for productivity and organizational management.
