It finally seems that Apple is not so different from other tech firms. Indeed, it would work not on the release of a new product, but on the restructuring of its Services division to reflect the departure of Services Director Peter Stern. Bad luck, he who was supposed to take over from Eddy Cue!
Apparently the latter would have revealed to his teams that he would leave at the end of January – just before the quarterly results – following six years spent in Cupertino. If the news were confirmed, Apple would need to step up a gear to revamp its highly profitable department. Indeed, in fiscal 2022, the services division reported $78 billion (i.e. 10 billion dollars more compared to 2021).
As a reminder, he currently holds the position of Vice President of Apple Services and oversees Apple TV+, Sports, Apple News+, iCloud, Apple Fitness+, Books, Apple Arcade et Apple One. Previously, he was Executive Vice President and Chief Strategy Officer of Time Warner Cable.
