Two years following opening the studios of Fitness+ for first-time visitors, the Apple once once more invited a media vehicle to record the recent advances of the service which, since its introduction, has already gone through a series of changes, which range from hiring new instructors to expanding to more devices.
This time the apple invited the Men’s Journal to show the evolution of the service, as well as more details regarding the backstage of the recordings and the conception behind the resources offered. In addition, the vehicle also took the opportunity to chat with Jay Blahnikvice president of fitness technologies at Apple.
Instead of several thematic rooms, the studio where the trainings are recorded is located in Santa Monica (California, United States) and is made up of a huge area with all the spaces seen in the classes, as well as the necessary equipment for each activity — which includes incredible 13 robotic camerasaccompanied by two others controlled by people on the team and a powerful lighting grid.
In addition to robot-controlled cameras, lighting is automated to follow presenters as they move around. According to the report, even though the workouts are recorded, it’s almost like a live broadcast, given the high degree of preparation and production at Fitness+.
In a separate room are the director, producers and controllers overseeing the work. The recordings are made twice, in addition to including a training summary that is recorded separately, not being a mere clipping of what was recorded. The idea is also that the workouts talk to each other, offering a certain familiarity, since they were captured in the same place and with similar angles.
In these nearly three years of history, Apple Fitness+ has already added 4 mil workouts and meditations in its collection. All are recorded in 4K resolution, in addition to taking care to integrate Apple fitness resources, such as information regarding the exercise and your progress displayed on the screen of the iPhone, iPad or television connected to an Apple TV — in addition to the Apple Watch, it is Of course.
In addition, Blahnik highlighted that the service is intended to be as inclusive as possible. Therefore, Fitness+ gained compatibility with more Apple devices in addition to the Watch, also with training durations ranging from 5 to 45 minutes.
In this way, the idea is to reach all types of people. Be it the public that just wants to exercise and hit the application’s goals or the one who runs marathons and the like, everyone can take advantage of the service’s workouts. Blahnik also added that he remains open to suggestions from users, always seeking to attract more people to exercise.
Apple Fitness+ is the first fitness service made for the Apple Watch — and now also works for those who don’t have the watch — with workouts and guided meditations for iPhone, iPad and Apple TV. With it, users can exercise wherever and whenever is most convenient. Fitness+ has training programs for pregnant women, seniors and beginners, it costs BRL 29.90 per month (or BRL 149.90 per year) and is also part of the company’s subscription package, Apple One Premium.
