One of the most common New Year’s resolutions is to get in shape. Unfortunately, studies show that most people give up on their resolutions within a month. One way to avoid giving up is to start making a habit of resolving yourself. There are many ways to do this, such as requesting a membership at your local gym or signing up for an online service. Apple Fitness Plus clearly does the trick, and next week Apple will add two new features that should make the service even more robust.
Apple Fitness Plus update coming soon
The first feature Apple added on January 10 is called Time to Run.
As the name suggests, Time to Run is all regarding helping users become better runners. Each episode of Time to Run explores a new running course in an iconic location. The episodes also feature coaching tips from popular Apple Fitness Plus trainers. This includes Emily Fayette, Jamie-Ray Hartshorne, Sam Sanchez, and Scott Carvin. Cory Wharton-Malcolm also joins as a new running trainer.
Apple Fitness Plus trainers will curate playlists for Time to Run that are filled with “motivating and energizing music” to keep users energized while they run. Their playlists will also match the theme of the venue. So if you run to the Miami Beach episode, expect to hear some Latin music. Users will also receive photos taken by Fitness Plus coaches of notable scenes along the course.
Three episodes of Time to Run will be available next Monday. London will be coached by Cory Wharton-Malcolm, Brooklyn will be coached by Emily Fayette and Miami Beach will be coached by Sam Sanchez. Apple will be adding new episodes of Time to Run every Monday.
Organize your workouts with Collections

The collections will also be available on Apple Fitness Plus on January 10. Apple describes Collections as “a collection of exercises and meditations from the Fitness + library curated to help users achieve their goals.” Apple says the Collections will make it easier to plan your training days or weeks in advance. Here are the six collections that will be available at launch next Monday:
30 Day Core Challenge Improve Your Posture with Pilates Perfect Your Yoga Balance Poses Run Your First 5K Strengthen Your Back, Stretch Your Hips Relax for a Better Bedtime
Other additions to Apple Fitness Plus
In addition to adding Time to Run and Collections to its fitness service, Apple is also developing older features. For example, the third season of Time to Walk will launch on January 10. The season 3 guest list includes Rebel Wilson, Bernice A. King, Hasan Minhaj, Chris Meloni, Chelsea Handler, Ayọ Tometi and Sugar Ray Leonard. Apple will also be expanding the Artist Spotlight series from Apple Fitness Plus. These new workouts will feature Ed Sheeran, Pharrell Williams, Shakira and The Beatles.
You will need an Apple Watch Series 3 or later to sign up for Apple Fitness Plus. Subscriptions cost $ 9.99 per month or $ 79.99 per year. There is a free trial for new Apple Watch owners. You can also get a Fitness Plus subscription with the Apple One Premier plan, which costs $ 29.95 per month and includes Apple Music, Apple TV +, Apple Arcade, Apple News +, and iCloud + with 2TB of storage.
