Experts from the Public Ministry seized a total of 237 electronic devices and/or accessories that pretended to be from recognized brands, during an investigation that took place at the kiosks in the international area of the La Aurora International Airport.
The Prosecutor’s Office for Crimes once morest Intellectual Property and the regional prosecutor’s office coordinated the procedure since last Thursday, February 29, the MP reported in its official account.
The purpose of the diligence is to investigate and combat the alleged sale of counterfeit electronic devices.
According to the prosecutor’s office, these devices are offered claiming to be from recognized brands such as Apple/IPhone and others.
Among the confiscated items are Earlpods, AirPods, IPod, MagSafe, among others, all with the brand’s characteristic apple design.
According to the authorities, the Office of the Prosecutor for Crimes once morest Intellectual Property has initiated the relevant procedures to determine the authenticity of the seized products.
The investigation remains ongoing, and according to the Prosecutor’s Office, it is expected that more details regarding this case will be obtained in the coming weeks.

According to legal and commercial regulations, counterfeiting can harm not only legitimate companies, but also consumers who may be affected by the low quality and lack of guarantees of counterfeit products.
