Apple brings firmware update for the AirTags

In the run-up to the iOS 16.2 update, Apple has released a new firmware update for the AirTags. iOS 16.2 is set to be released to the public in the coming days. It’s unclear at this point what changes the AirTags update will include, as Apple hasn’t released any update notes yet.

The last AirTag firmware released was version 2.0.24 with build number 2A24e. It is also not known regarding this update which changes have been made. In early 2022, Apple updated the AirTag firmware to optimize the tracker sound to make it easier to find unknown AirTags.

To check your AirTag’s firmware version, open the Find My app on your iPhone and select the Devices tab in the bottom navigation bar. Then find your AirTag in the list of devices and tap its name. This should show your AirTag’s serial number and firmware version.

After the update, did you notice that the AirTags behaved differently in any way? Then feel free to write us something in the comment fields below this article.
