Apple Brings Battery Percentage Back to iPhone Status Bar with iOS 16

How to Show iPhone Battery Percentage in iOS 16

The battery percentage option is turned off by default, so you will have to enable it yourself.

1. Open the Settings app on your iPhone

2. Scroll down and tap Battery.

3. From here, toggle the battery percentage option to On You can disable the feature by toggling the option to Off.

Almost all iPhones from Apple with notches and FaceID support the battery percentage option, except for the iPhone XR, iPhone 11, iPhone 12 Mini, and iPhone 13 Mini. Other than that, these iPhones support the battery percentage option:

iPhone battery percentage in iOS 16 is not perfect, but it should improve in iOS 16.1

Currently, the battery icon with the battery percentage inside appears as if it is fully charged until it reaches 20% of battery life, at which point it turns red.

The next big iOS update, iOS 16.1, is supposed to tweak the battery icon to reflect how much battery life is left — like when the battery percentage indicator is disabled.

  • Alternatively, you can update them all by clicking the blue Update All option right below the Incoming Automatic Updates heading.
  • And you’ll see All your apps are now updated, you can now enjoy any new features and security updates and repeat the process in the future if needed.
