Apple begins releasing firmware updates for AirTags

2023-10-31 21:26:02

After almost a year since the last update (last December), the Apple updated the firmware of the AirTags (build 2A61), which now have the version 2.0.61 as the most recent released by the company.

There is still no information or indications regarding what has been improved (or even added) in the newest version — it probably only contains bug fixes and performance improvements.

Contrary to what happens with some other systems, it is not possible to start updating an AirTag’s firmware manually — which means that the entire process takes place automatically, just like with AirPods.

And don’t get your hopes up regarding the date, as the update will only reach 1% of AirTags today. According to X user Aaron [@aaronp613]it will be released to other trackers little by little, until November 28th.

Have any lucky people out there already been honored? ????
