A Apple launched a new program today which aims to serve consumers affected by a problem with iPhone 14 Plus rear camera. According to the company, a “very small percentage” of devices of this model may not show any preview of the rear camera.
To be recall is aimed at the units sold between April 10, 2023 and April 28, 2024. The iPhone 14 Plus, it is worth remembering, was originally launched in September 2022.
A Apple made a page available in which you can check whether your iPhone 14 Plus is eligible or not by entering its serial number. If so, Apple will repair the device for free — assuming it has no other type of damage(s).
Note: If your iPhone 14 Plus has any damage that prevents the repair from being completed, such as a cracked back glass, this issue will need to be resolved prior to service. In some cases, there may be a cost associated with the additional repair.
Repair can be performed at an Apple Authorized Service Center (Apple Authorized Service Provideror AASP) and at an Apple Store, with consumers also able to contact Apple Support to schedule mail delivery service through the Apple Repair Center. Your iPhone will be examined before any service to see if it is eligible for repair.
The company also explains that the program covers “eligible iPhone 14 Plus models” for three years after the original purchase date. Additionally, if you have already paid for a repair for this exact issue, you may be able to request a refund.
Additionally, although this is a worldwide program, Apple may restrict or limit repairs to the original country or region of purchase. iPhones repaired by the program will also not have the extended warranty coverage date.
