Apple recently made the Belkin Head Strap for the Vision Proa new accessory from the famous manufacturer designed to improve the ergonomics of Apple headset users.
The headband is designed to offer comfort and stability at the top. Complementing the track Solo Knitfrom Apple, its ergonomic, adjustable design includes a secure locking mechanism and additional stabilization points. This ensures that the device stays in place even during vigorous movement.
Even with an interesting proposal to improve ergonomics when using the device, the accessory has been criticized for its price. US$50. Journalist Mark Gurman (from Bloomberg), said that this should have been the original accessory (instead of the Dual Loop Band), claiming that the price is not that attractive either.
1) Should have been in the box instead of the dual strap
2) $50 is overpriced but you’ve already paid $3500 so hard to complain.
3) When Apple knows an accessory is needed but doesn’t want to put its brand on it, it turns to Belkin (owned by a Foxconn subsidiary) https://t.co/oKM5HSIVi5

Although Apple unveiled a similar product in WWDC23when they announced the Vision Pro, it was never commercialized. Instead, the company released the cheaper Dual Loop band, which included a top strap but not the same knit fabric as the Solo Knit band.

**Interview with Tech Reviewer Jane Doe on the Belkin Head Strap for Apple Vision Pro**
**Interviewer:** Thank you for joining us today, Jane! It looks like the new Belkin Head Strap for the Apple Vision Pro has shipped. Can you share your initial thoughts on this accessory?
**Jane Doe:** Absolutely! I’m really interested in how this strap is going to enhance the overall user experience with the Vision Pro. Ergonomically designed accessories are becoming essential, especially with the increasing amount of time users spend in AR/VR environments.
**Interviewer:** Yes, ergonomics are critical. We know that this head strap is priced at $50, which has sparked some debate. What are your views on that price point?
**Jane Doe:** I agree that $50 seems a bit steep, particularly when you’ve already invested $3,500 in the headset. However, from a comfort and utility standpoint, a well-designed head strap could be invaluable. The functionality and comfort it adds can potentially justify the price, especially for avid users.
**Interviewer:** Journalist Mark Gurman suggested that this should have been included in the box instead of the Dual Loop Band. Do you think that would have made a difference in users’ perception?
**Jane Doe:** Definitely. If Apple had included this more ergonomic option, it might have impacted user satisfaction positively. It’s clear that many users feel that the Dual Loop Band doesn’t provide the same level of comfort. Providing a quality head strap from the get-go could have enhanced the user experience right out of the box.
**Interviewer:** It’s interesting to note that Apple showcased similar products at WWDC but opted for a cheaper, less comfortable alternative in the Dual Loop Band. How do you think this decision reflects Apple’s approach to accessories?
**Jane Doe:** It seems Apple is balancing cost with design. While they might want to keep the initial purchase price manageable, it also leaves room for upselling accessories. However, this strategy could backfire if customers feel that the essential comfort accessories should be part of the main package.
**Interviewer:** Good point! As you wait for yours to arrive, what features are you most looking forward to testing?
**Jane Doe:** I’m particularly looking forward to testing the adjustable design and how well it stabilizes the Vision Pro during active use. It’s essential for a head strap like this to stay in place during movement. I’m also curious to see how comfortable it feels during extended use, as that’s often a significant factor for users.
**Interviewer:** That’s exciting! We’ll be eager to hear your findings once you’ve had the chance to try it out. Thanks for your insights today, Jane!
**Jane Doe:** Thank you for having me! I can’t wait to share my experience with the Belkin Head Strap.
