The International Organization for the Protection of Animals (The bad ones), in response to what was declared by the president of the Autonomous Province of Trento Maurizio Fugatti following the injuring a hiker by a bearrecalls that the Minister of the Environment, Gilberto Pichetto Fratindeclared last Friday that “wildlife contributes decisively to the balance of our ecosystem and to the Natural Capital, true Italian wealth. “We are aware of the practices of the Province of Trento and unfortunately they contradict the minister’s reflection made public three days ago on the occasion of World Wildlife Day”, comments the president of Oipa, Massimo Comparotto. “If the objective shared by the Ministry in the context of the European Biodiversity Strategy for 2030 is “strengthening protection actions and re-establishing ecological connectivity”, this must also necessarily be respected by the Autonomous Provinces in the management of large carnivores”.
Oipa, quoting the words of Minister Pichetto Fratin, invites President Fugatti to “reflect on the responsibilities and solutions available to man for support wildlife on earth“.
