Apostolos Lytras: How he spent his name day in prison – Frontal conflict with his wife – 2024-07-02 11:36:56

Apostolos Lytras spent his name day in prison yesterday with his daughters and his ex-wife by his side who visited him for three hours at the Korydallos penitentiary.

Now Apostolos Lytras is waiting for the judgment of the Criminal Court on the application for release from prison that he submitted last Friday and with a small group of his associates, he is analyzing the data and the situation that has developed.

The conflict is at an end

Sofia Polyzogopoulou showed last week that not only is she not willing to throw away any bridge of communication with him and his close circle, but she seems determined to take the case all the way to the courts, with the sole aim of seeing the 52-year-old criminologist convicted for her brutal beating, which he also confessed to.

“Rain” of messages to the criminologist for his celebration

The dozens of messages on the web pages of Apostolos Lytras were impossible to improve his psychology.

-“Happy birthday, long-suffering, I wish you health and a happy solution to your problem.”

-“Happy birthday with health, strength, courage and hope”.

Many were impressed by the descriptions of Sofia Polyzogopoulou sent to Apostolos Lytras by women.

-“May the Holy Apostles give you patience and strength and get you out of the spider’s web. Happy and blessed birthday.”

Life in prison

For the 12th day in Korydallos prisons, the accused criminologist remains in the VIP wing, without having changed his attitude and habits.

He avoids showing off and tries to keep a low profile. He takes part in prison meetings, shops in the canteen, uses the pay phone during the hours allowed and, as prison officials told Live News, he smokes heavily and reads a series of books he has in his hands in cell 4 where he is being held.

From the first day, Apostolos Lytras does not enter into discussions with his fellow inmates, about the beating of Sofia Polyzogopoulos, and he tries not to give extra fodder for discussions in the Korydallos prisons.

The frontal attack of Sofia Polyzogopoulou

Through the memorandum filed by her lawyer, Sofia Polyzogopoulou sends messages in all directions and shows her intentions for the future. She directly blames Apostolos Lytras for the beating and the movements he made that night, with the aim, as she says, of obscuring the landscape and for what he did to her to go unpunished.

“While I was seriously injured, the accused Apostolos Lytras, instead of taking me, as he should, immediately to the nearest hospital and ignoring my pleas to go to a hospital, he decided, without my will, to take me from the place of the serious injury in Vouliagmeni, in the until then conjugal home in Gerakas and while I was already feeling suffocated from swallowing quantities of blood, pains in my head, dizziness, instability and a tendency to faint”.

As Sofia Polyzogopoulou reports, her husband’s every move that night was aimed at not having to face the consequences of his act.

“The reason he took me to the then matrimonial home, exposing me to a very serious risk of life and a situation no longer safe for my life, was that he obviously wanted to avoid his arrest and all the further procedures involved in transporting an injured person to hospital from apparent severe beating. He testifies that we allegedly went to calm down. However, it is clear that he accepted the risk of my life as he did not take me to the hospital”.

“I was begging him to take me to the hospital”

The 37-year-old lawyer repeats how she managed to trap her husband and convince him to take her to a hospital.

“As I have already testified, already being in the then matrimonial home and while I went up to the 1st floor to press the panic button to automatically signal the police, he caught up with me, took it and held it as he was still holding my cell phone phone, denying me the ability to ask for help. I was very dizzy and had a lot of nosebleeds. I begged him to take me to the hospital. In order to reassure him and save my life, which was in immediate danger, I told him that if he took me to the hospital I would not say that he had hit me, but that I fell of my own accord, which he seems to have believed at this time. Then, the defendant urgently asked me to wash and change clothes.”

Sofia Polyzogopoulou describes a series of images she lived until she started with Apostolos Lytras for the private clinic.

“I went into the bathroom and he followed me, got the bathroom phone and was throwing water on my face to make sure my face and head were cleaned and rinsed. On the way to the exit of the house, and while I had changed my clothes and washed off the blood, we got into a car that belonged to me, and not the one in which I was seriously injured, and on the way I heard him talking to someone he knew telling him “it’s okay, I’ve beaten Sofia badly, I’m taking her to the Euroclinic, I hope I don’t get involved”.

Remove phone privacy

On the occasion of this call, Sofia Polyzogopoulou requested that her husband’s cell phone be disconnected from June 16 to 19. That is, from the night of the brutal beating until the afternoon when the criminologist was arrested.

“The reason is not only the call I’m referring to, but also a number of other calls and messages that have been made by the accused to me and third parties.”

Everything shows that Apostolos Lytras and Sofia Polyzogopoulou will soon face each other in court.

With the 37-year-old making moves that testify to the anger at the attack she received and her determination not to let go of the case, no matter how much time it takes.
