After season 13 (Rescue), Apex Legends will launch its season 14 today: Predation. New legend, change of the Kings Canyon map…, we tell you everything regarding the contributions of this update to the battle royale from the Respawn studio.
The New Legend: Vantage
The star of this season 14 is obviously the new legend that accompanies it: the aptly named Vantage. Real name Xiomara (aka Mara), her background gives her a pretty special look and abilities within the cast. This outstanding sniper indeed lived in a rather harsh environment on the planet Pagos. Raised by her survivalist mother, Mara will finally leave her wild world following a serious injury which forced her mother to activate a distress beacon, unearthing at the same time her past as a prisoner. This unfortunate event will still give him a new friend, a pretty cute baby bat.
As a survivor, Vantage is naturally predisposed for long distance shooting with his old version of the sentry. She can thus reveal the position of enemies for her team but also eliminate them from a distance. In order to compensate for her lack of mobility, she can count on the Echo bat to help her reposition herself.
Here are all of Vantage’s abilities:
- Passive Ability – Precision Sight: Vantage can use its precision sight to remotely acquire tactical information on enemy squads and gain the upper hand over each enemy with valuable intel including name, range, armor rarity, and number of teammates.
- Tactical Ability – Winged Redeployment: Vantage is always assisted by her winged companion Echo, who can help her redeploy with maximum speed. Using his modified jetpack and bespoke aiming system, Vantage can launch himself towards Echo and gain the upper hand over his enemies.
- Ultimate Ability – Mark of the Sniper: No one can escape the range of Vantage’s custom sniper rifle, which reveals its targets with special ammo and sights: all successful shots highlight enemy squads for ten seconds with a diamond marker, and damage dealt increases following each impact.
The Canyon of the Kings revisited
One of the oldest cards in Apex Legends finally finds colors thanks to Predation. The developers have made a lot of changes to modernize the whole while keeping what made its charm. Overall, they have removed optional passages and other shortcuts in order to favor risk-taking and routes decided in advance. Strategic places will also have less importance, such as the cage, which will be much more difficult to defend since it is now more open.
The new point of interest, “Relic”, will apparently be the main attraction of this revamped map. This is no more and no less than the area rebuilt by the Syndicate following the destruction of the Graveyard City and the Thunder Dome. ” The twisting, interconnected buildings of the central village should provide Legends with a frenetic (and nostalgic) experience.” It will be up to the players to validate or not, the changes made but it is clear that we feel the efforts to restore interest in the Kings Canyon.
For the rest of the important information, high rollers will be happy to hear that the maximum level has finally been raised. This is a kind of prestige system already seen on other FPS, in other words since the maximum level is 500, so you will return to level 1 with a level of prestige in order to gain new loot, and it will be possible to repeat the operation 4 times in total.
