The new Rhapsody Legend is accompanied by a new update, which includes a new map, Hack game mode, a new ranked season, limited-time game modes and a new battle pass
EA and Respawn Entertainment today announced that the update to the Season 2: Distortion Apex Legends Mobile is now available to players in all regions. After the Cold Snap update, which introduced Lobaen Apex Legends Mobile, Distortion will mark the debut of the second legend exclusive to the mobile version: Rhapsody, a virtuoso DJ, and her partner “Jaleo”, a cute but deadly bot. Along with Rhapsody, Warp will also add a variety of new content, including a new map, a new mode, and the mobile debut of Skulltown’s home, King’s Canyon.
Since its launch less than two months ago, Apex Legends Mobile has already started rolling out mobile content updates, taking the first steps on a full content roadmap. The main features of Season 2: Distortion are:
New Maps:
- Pythas Bloque 0; A map designed for team deathmatch. Pythas Block 0 is a corporate campus of Pythas Inc. high above the town of Komma in Solace.
- Kings Canyon: The King has returned! To celebrate the release of Kings Canyon on mobile, Rhapsody has placed VIP tickets to their upcoming concert all over the map for players to find.
New Modes:
- Game of weapons: Accumulate kills to get the next weapon in the arsenal. Get three melee kills, or get all the points to win in this fast-paced game mode!
- Hacking: In this mode, two teams face off as Hackers and Defenders. There is an ADS Satellite with an orbital cannon pointing directly at the play area. Hackers must work to hack one of the two locations on the map to get points. After scoring 3 points, the satellite will punish opponents by frying them like a potato. The Defenders must stop the Hackers at all costs!
New Legend: Rhapsody
- A DJ from Komma, where the tech giant, Pythas Inc, controls absolutely everything. Rhapsody has used her passion for music to break out of the dangerous nightlife district of Neon Dunes and become one of the most famous Legends in the Apex scene. Her mother, a brilliant AI engineer and the creator of Rhapsody’s companion Jaleo, has a complicated relationship with Pythas Inc., and Rhapsody now competes in the Apex Games under the name Pythas. Rhapsody’s abilities include:
- Passive: Privileged Ear – Picks up and visualizes sounds from a wide range.
- Tactic: Stadium Anthem – Plays a tune that gives nearby allies movement speed and recharges their shields. Taking damage will stop the ability.
- Definitive: Jaleo Rave – Jaleo projects a wall of glowing lights that blocks vision and scanners.
- Legend Progression Perks:
- Volume Control – Allies affected by your Tactic will also temporarily have Privileged Hearing.
- Sound Leak -Occasionally you will see 3D sound effects through walls.
- Attunement – Running continuously increases the range of Privileged Hearing.
- Reverb – The more allies affected by your Tactic, the longer it lasts.
- Harmony – Your Tactic increases revive speed and the effect of healing items.
- Jaleo Rhythm – During your Ultimate, allies near Jaleo will recharge faster.
New Events:
- Takeover of the City: Encores and More Encores – The aircraft carrier Encores and More Encores has arrived at Kings Canyon, painted entirely in neon paint almost as loud as the music from Rhapsody. Land on Encores and More Encores for awesome rewards and a chance to find a VIP pass.
- Rhapsody LIVE: Complete challenges to earn special Rhapsody posters commemorating this Legend’s arrival in the Apex Games!
- Conqueror of Kings: Explore Kings Canyon to complete quests and map-specific quests for rewards!
And much more!
- Club Showdown: Reach the top of the club leaderboards together with your teammates by completing objectives! Show your pride for the club, and earn points to get special prizes. The higher your position, the better the rewards!
