Apartment maintenance company: the number of calls due to the elements has tripled | Business

The natural disaster that has hit Lithuania in recent days has put almost all rescue services on their feet. Specialists in the maintenance of multi-apartment buildings are no exception. “Mano BÚSTAS” calculates that the number of calls increased significantly during the day due to heavy rain and strong wind.

In order to save clients’ property as quickly as possible, “Mano BUSTAS” strengthened the emergency service forces. The losses caused by the storm and rain are not only fought by the company’s employees, but also by external partners. Emergency crews have been working non-stop since Sunday night as one call is replaced by another.

Eglė Šlajūtė, who is responsible for the operation of the “Mano BŪSTO” emergency service in the capital city, confirmed that the residents sought help three times more than usual.

“Understanding the seriousness of the situation, we used all our own human resources, as well as external contractors. We try to get to every call as quickly as possible. Due to the abundance of accidents, we plan every minute, review the routes, and distribute the workforce accordingly. Due to the emergency situation, the arrival of some calls may take longer than usual, but we will not leave any customer in trouble. We simply ask for the residents’ patience, because the situation is truly extraordinary”, says E. Šlajūtė.

Heavy rainfall and strong wind caused the most damage to the structures of apartment buildings and engineering systems. Most of the calls were received due to leaks in apartments and common rooms, parts of roof structures and facades were torn off, rainwater and domestic sewage networks were flooded.

So far, the company has not recorded reports that falling trees or parts of house structures damaged apartment buildings or nearby cars.

“We eliminate some of the faults caused by the antics of nature immediately on the spot, but we will start removing some of the defects only when the weather conditions allow it. In any case, we respond promptly, we help everyone who needs our help and we hope that the number of emergency calls will start to decrease at the end of the day”, said E. Šlajūtė.

If any damage to the house’s structures is noticed, “Mano BŚSTAS” asks the residents to report it to the house’s administrator without delay. Also, do not try to remove the effects of storm and rain damage in common areas yourself. Especially if they are related to electrical installation.
