At his residence in the Italian capital, Rome, Aoun received Dongy Webesley and presented to them his vision for the establishment of the Lebanon Support Fund project, which “would contribute to providing financial aid, educational and health support to a large number of Lebanese.”
In turn, Donguie promised the President of the Republic to “continue coordination with the Lebanese government to provide what is needed for Lebanon,” stressing that his proposal “will be taken into consideration, especially in terms of how the organization contributes to it within its powers.”
As for Beasley, he announced that he “made several contacts with the aim of doubling the financial aid so that the program can continue its work, especially in Lebanon,” stressing that “the program will not hesitate to help Lebanon.” Beasley considered Aoun’s proposal “worthy of study”, noting that “it will remain subject to follow-up by the program in a way that contributes to its achievement.”
Aoun had met in the Vatican today, Pope Francis. Tomorrow, Tuesday, he will meet in Rome with his Italian counterpart Sergio Mattarella, to review “bilateral relations and issues of common interest.”
