AOC’s AGON 5 range welcomes a new monitor today

The gaming branch of the AOC brand gratifies us with a brand new PC monitor which completes the AGON 5 range started last year.

This time, AGON embarks in a larger size than its previous models. The subsidiary specialized in gaming products of AOC announces the release of monitor AG325QZN/EU which, as its name does not indicate, offers us a diagonal of 31.5 inches.

A large and powerful monitor

AGON launched two new monitors in its AGON 5 range in November 2022: the AG275QZ/EU and AG275QZN/EU, both with a 27-inch screen but not having the same display technology. The brand, which has not yet rushed into the OLED display mode, is today launching its new monitor which improves the AG275QZN/EU proposal by making it larger. Nothing really new for this device which wants to be efficient for the practice of any video game, whether it is competitive games, an RPG or a real-time strategy game.

The object therefore has, as we said above, a very wide screen of 31.5 inches (approximately 80 cm diagonal) with a QHD VA panel of 2,560 x 1,440 pixels. Such a display technology is interesting since it makes it possible to take advantage of the refresh rate of 240 Hz and the maximum resolution more easily with modern GPUs than for a 4K resolution. Displaying 240 frames per second (achievable in DisplayPort) in your game therefore requires less resources from the computer.

Minimal reaction time

As we know, screens dedicated to gaming compete in technique to offer players the lowest possible latency rate between commands and what is displayed on the screen. Without however reaching the far too high standard of a Samsung screen, the AG325QZN/EU monitor promises a gray-to-gray response time of 1 ms and 0.5 ms MPRT (the time it takes for pixel blur to disappear on moving pictures). The AGON screen also displays quality images and offers a contrast ratio of 3000:1 as well as a brightness of 400 cd/m² (nits).

The monitor can also be used as an extra screen, its stand can be tilted at 90° and thus display content in portrait mode. Connectivity level, it offers the same possibilities as its predecessors. It has a 4-port USB 3.2 hub, two HDMI 2.0 ports and two DisplayPort 1.4. A 3.5 mm jack for connecting headphones is also included.

The AGON 5 AG325QZN/EU monitor is available for €579.
