Anzoátegui FC got off to a good start in the second phase of the Futve 2 League, beating Atlético La Cruz 2-0 at Club Barcelona Sports.

The team led by Juvencio “Teto” Betancourt defeated the Monagas team with goals from Aquiles Ocanto and Klinsmann Yendis, in a match that took place on Wednesday afternoon, valid for the 16th date of the tournament.

Goal scoring debut

“Chino” Ocanto, one of the main reinforcements of the Anzoategui team for this semester, had a great debut with the Anzoategui shirt.

In the 33rd minute he took advantage of a deep pass from Joel Infante and on the edge of the goal line he fired a shot past goalkeeper Pedro Caraballo. In this way he scored his first goal with the eastern team.

The home team’s second goal came in the 90+3′, after Klinsmann Yendis finished off a play started on the left flank by attackers Jhon Ramos and Luis Martell with a left-footed shot.

Number of wins

In this way, Anzoátegui reached eight victories in 15 disputed challenges and has a total of 27 points. With several matches to be played this Thursday, it guaranteed to remain at the top of the table of the Central-Eastern Group of the Futve 2 League.

It is also worth remembering that the 15th round of the competition is still pending. It was to be held on Wednesday, July 31, but due to the circumstances in the country at that time (protests in several cities) it was suspended, although without any official announcement from the organizers.
