The Anzoátegui state team celebrated on Saturday at the National Under 8 Federation Baseball Championship, following winning 2-1 over Guárico.
Hector Guaiquirian, representative of the Anzoategui Baseball Association, reported that the match took place in Cagua, Aragua state.
In that town, the red and gold squad recovered from a 1-0 disadvantage to achieve victory in a match in which groups from 18 Venezuelan entities participate.

Franjolys Borges, representative of the Anzoategui team’s press department, indicated that Luis Guaina stood out both on the mound and in the batter’s box to establish himself as the figure of the meeting for athletes under 8 years of age.
As a pitcher, Guaina worked two scoreless innings and as a hitter he hit a double that drove in a pair of runs that allowed the eastern team to turn the score around.
This Sunday, the red-and-yellow team will be back in action when it challenges Aragua in a confrontation that will end in a shootout.
