Kochi: The High Court has directed the government to take appropriate action in the incident where the Popular Front chanted hate slogans in Alappuzha. Justice PV Kunhikrishnan said that not only those who chanted the slogan but also the organizers of the event were responsible for the incident. The remarks were made while considering an earlier petition filed in the High Court seeking an injunction once morest the Popular Front and Bajrang Dal rallies.

The court had allowed the rallies with strict instructions to the police not to cause any law and order problems. The court ruled that strict action should be taken once morest anyone who chanted such slogans, and asked if he thought anything might be shouted at the rallies.
