Anutin and ASEAN Secretary-General join the launch of the ACPHEED office to prepare for the state of emergency and emerging diseases in the future

Mr. Anutin said The pandemic of COVID-19 affect health security as well as enormous economic and social damage. Countries around the world agree to increase cooperation to enhance national and regional capacities to cope with emerging infectious diseases. In which in the ASEAN region, 10 countries have focused on this issue. The establishment of the ASEAN Center for Emergencies on Public Health and Emerging Diseases (ACPHEED) was announced at the 37th ASEAN Summit in 2020.
and most recently in the 15th ASEAN Health Ministers Meeting on 11-15 May 65 in Bali, Indonesia. There was a consensus to establish the secretariat of ACPHEED in Thailand, and in the first phase, there were 3 countries, namely Vietnam, Indonesia, and Thailand, who took the lead in Prevention, Detection and Response, respectively. internationally recognized and is an example of how to remove lessons, exchange, learn, manage and control the situation of the Covid-19 outbreak. by the World Health Organization in April 2022
Mr. Anutin said Roles and Responsibilities Under the Agreement made at the Tripartite Meeting on ACPHEED dated 13 May 65, the Secretariat will serve as the ASEAN Regional Center of Excellence and Resource Center. To strengthen capacity and capacity to prevent, detect and respond to public health emergencies and emerging diseases and coordinate with partner agencies and countries outside the ASEAN region
