Virat Kohli dedicated his century in international cricket following a gap of two and a half years to his beloved partner Anushka and daughter Wamika. The actor said that he is standing here now because of one person named Anushka. Kohli’s announcement was made following the match.
‘The last two and a half years have taught me a lot. I am turning 34 in November. So, those celebrations are a thing of the past. I was actually shocked. It was a format where I didn’t expect a century. I have been working hard and this is a very special moment for me and the team,” said Kohli.
The team stood by with an open mind. That’s why I was able to play to my liking. I know there is a lot going on outside. They gave me the right perspective, added the actor.
Kohli also revealed the reason behind kissing the ring following the century. I am standing here because of only one person. It is Anushka.
This century is for her and our beloved daughter Vamika. I was never disappointed when I had someone like Anushka to talk to and be with. That six month vacation was really refreshing for me. That was when I realized how tired I was. The actor also stated that it was that break that gave me the ability to enjoy playing once once more.
This is Kohli’s first century in T20Is. The player remained unbeaten in the match scoring 122 runs off 61 balls. The innings included 14 fours and six sixes.
