For the United States, Morocco is a “stable partner and provider of security”, the US State Department said on Monday.
“We appreciate Morocco as a stable partner and provider of security, for its leadership of the Global Counterterrorism Forum and for its supporting role in the Global Coalition to Defeat ISIS, including co-chairing the Task Force on Africa of the Coalition and by hosting the next ministerial meeting of the Coalition in May”, indicated the American diplomacy in a statement released on the occasion of the working visit to Rabat of the American Secretary of State, Antony Blinken.
The State Department recalled that during the last session of the strategic bilateral dialogue, held recently in Rabat, between the Minister of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation and Moroccans Living Abroad, Nasser Bourita, and the Deputy US Secretary of State, Wendy Sherman, the two countries also pledged to “pursue strong counter-terrorism cooperation, including once morest AQIM and ISIS”.
During his visit to Morocco, Mr. Blinken will have talks with several senior Moroccan officials, the opportunity to review the various aspects of a solid and multifaceted cooperation between two allies sharing a common vision and values and driven by the same determination to consolidate the dynamics of partnership in the service of development, prosperity and regional and international peace.
