Antonov: Washington will not succeed in igniting a conflict between Europe and Russia through Ukraine

“Washington’s idea of igniting a conflict between Europe and Russia using the Ukrainian crisis will not work, and the United States will not be able to stay away from the ocean if the current crisis turns into a global conflict,” Antonov said in a comment published by the Russian diplomatic mission on Telegram.

“Any supplies of modern equipment, be it fighters or long-range missiles, as well as sending mercenaries to our country, will not change the situation on the battlefield,” he added.

Antonov pointed out that “the American project in Ukraine caused destruction and resulted in great losses among the Slavic peoples, stressing that Russia will deal with this challenge, and that the goals and tasks of the special military operation will be fully accomplished.”

It is noteworthy that Russia has declared many times that it does not want a major war to break out.

Russian President Vladimir Putin stressed that Russia does not want to enter into a direct military conflict with NATO, but if any party wants to, Moscow is ready.

Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said that Russia has already gone through such circumstances several times, but the United States itself is fueling tensions and trying to turn neutral countries against Russia.

In his speech during the military parade in Moscow on the occasion of the 79th anniversary of the victory over Nazism last May, Putin stressed that Russia will not allow a global clash to occur despite the policies of Western elites.

Putin stressed that Russia rejects any countries or alliances’ claims of its exceptionalism, will not accept their threats, and its strategic forces are on constant alert, and will do its utmost to prevent a global clash.

The Kremlin noted that the supply of weapons to Ukraine from the West does not contribute to the success of Russian-Ukrainian negotiations and will have a negative impact.
