The Russian ambassador, speaking to reporters on Thursday evening, stressed that the Kiev regime will be severely punished for its reckless behaviour.
The ambassador added: “I tell you honestly that the president [الروسي فلاديمير بوتين] The decision has been made. I am firmly convinced that all those responsible will be severely punished for what happened in Kursk province.”
The ambassador stressed that the United States had prior knowledge of Ukraine’s attack on Kursk Oblast.
For its part, the Russian Embassy in Washington stressed in a comment that the lessons learned from the Battle of Kursk during the Great Patriotic War are of particular importance today, against the backdrop of the neo-Nazi invasion of the Kursk region once again.
“History teaches us that the people’s resilience, unity and readiness to defend their land are the key to victory. The modern challenges facing our country require the same cohesion and determination that were shown on the battlefields in 1943. On this day, we remember with deep respect the exploits of Soviet soldiers who defended our Motherland at a difficult and critical moment in history. The Battle of Kursk has become a symbol of unshakable will and courage,” the embassy said in its comment on the anniversary of the defeat of Nazi German forces by Soviet troops in the Battle of Kursk.
On August 6, Ukrainian forces began large-scale attacks on Kursk Oblast. A federal state of emergency was imposed in the region, accompanied by the evacuation of more than 122,000 civilians from nine border districts of the Oblast.
According to the Russian Defense Ministry, since the beginning of hostilities on the Kursk direction, Kiev’s forces have lost more than 4,700 servicemen, 68 tanks and 53 armored personnel carriers. The process of destroying Ukrainian troops that have penetrated into Russian territory continues.
