“The intervention of Antonis Samaras today in the Parliament highlighted the soul of the ND. Contrary to a series of analyses, I am not at all worried regarding the cohesion of the ND”, said the parliamentary representative of the New Left, Nasos Iliopoulos, in his intervention in the Plenary, following the former prime minister’s speech on the bill for same-sex couples.

At the same time, he argued that “Antonis Samaras highlighted today why Kyriakos Mitsotakis is a hypocrite” and explained that “he is making an intervention only to wash away his policy for the rule of law and the convictions of the country”.

“As the New Left, we might not but respond in substance to the authoritarian, conservative and abusive speech we heard and which apparently does not bother the ND government at all,” Mr. Iliopoulos then underlined, referring to the essence of Samara’s speech.
