Antigua GFC confirms that coach Dwight Pezzarossi leaves his position at the institution

The end of Dwight Pezzarossi’s era as Antigua GFC coach has arrived of the Guatemalan soccer league. The national coach was left out of office at the avocado institution this Wednesday, May 8, 2024, as announced by the same team.
It was through the club’s official social networks that Antigua GFC announced the news.
“Club Antigua thanks Technical Director Dwight Pezzarossi for his work leading the Antigua GFC first team“, is what the club expressed.
“Today we wish you success in your future professional and personal projects. Today Antigua GFC and all of us who make up this great family thank you for all your efforts and for contributing to the growth of our club,” he concluded the message where they also cite the achievements achieved by the Guatemalan when he was in charge of the institution.
Pezzarossi remained in Antigua for five tournaments, first he was as a technical assistant and it was from the Apertura 2023 that he took full charge of the technical direction of the avocado team.
In the current Clausura 2024 Pezzarossi directed 20 games of which he won 13, lost three and tied four.
During the qualifying phase of the championship, they became the leader of the general and accumulated table and starred in a fight with CSD Municipal until the last date to see who would qualify for the Concacaf Central American Cup.
Antigua finished the season as the second best team in the standings with 32 points in 16 games, but said goodbye to the title fight in the semifinals when they lost on penalties to Deportivo Mixco.
