SECRETARY General of the Indonesian House of Representatives, Indra Iskandar, revealed that security for the 2024 MPR RI Annual Session and the DPR-DPD Joint Session will be tightened. This is in connection with the current geopolitical situation.
“This is certainly anticipating the existing dynamics, global political dynamics as well so that we all understand that for security, to make all of us who are in here comfortable, to ensure that we are all safe,” said Indra, at the Parliament Complex, Senayan, Jakarta, Monday (12/8).
Indra added that security will be tightened starting August 15, 2024. He said that security will be assisted by elements of the TNI/Polri and also Paspampres. This is done to ensure that the implementation of the MPR RI Annual Session and the DPR-DPD Joint Session in 2024 runs safely.
“There will be a more straightforward system in security from both the TNI/Polri elements and the Paspampres so that for those who will be present on that date, there will certainly be a little stiffness that cannot be avoided,” said Indra.
The Annual Session of the MPR RI, which is routinely held before the commemoration of the Anniversary of Indonesian Independence, contains reports from the leaders of constitutional state institutions.
The report on the executive performance achievement will be represented by President Jokowi as Head of State to the legislative ranks to be submitted to the MPR RI. (P-5)
