Anses is organizing the November 19, 2024 a thematic day on antibiotic resistance in animal health in a One Health approach. This event is part of the World Week for the Appropriate Use of Antibiotics. The main annual results of the surveillance systems coordinated by ANSES will be presented during this exchange:

Monitoring sales of veterinary drugs containing antimicrobials in France in 2023
This monitoring makes it possible to assess the exposure of domestic animals to antibiotics and other antimicrobials and to follow the evolution of practices in different animal species.
European surveillance of animal antibiotic resistance
ANSES monitors at the national level the resistance of bacteria that can contaminate humans via food of animal origin. The results of this monitoring are used to monitor the evolution of the situation at the European level.
Résapath (Epidemiological surveillance network for antibiotic resistance in animal pathogenic bacteria)
This network monitors the development of antibiotic resistance in all domestic animal species in France.

Combating antibiotic resistance by rethinking our practices requires a global approach based on the complementarity of disciplinary perspectives. During the meeting organized in 2022ANSES addressed the intersectoral issues of antibiotic resistance by bringing together experts in human, animal and environmental health around a round table.

This year, in order to extend the debate, ANSES is inviting experts in human and social sciences to discuss the One Health concept and antibiotic resistance.

The meeting is aimed at scientists, decision-makers and professionals in the field.
