Antibes Swimming Pool begins dismantling, turning a page in its history

Everyone from Antibes swims there for the first time since the 1980s. The Antibes swimming pool was built in 1976 and is definitely no longer up to standard. The Town Hall has therefore initiated a preliminary asbestos diagnosis before demolition from November 2023 and consulted companies.

From then on, the preparation phase at the construction site continued until June, the month when the first hammer fell. “We looked at the cost of refurbishment and it’s not much different than demolishing and rebuilding, and in the second case we have new equipment that will last 50 years.”” said Mayor Jean Leonetti.

In addition to two outdoor pools and a water play area, this new aquatic complex will also feature a learning pool, a sports pool and a pool dedicated to wellness. The upper floors will house a fitness area and a restaurant with a panoramic terrace, which the mayor wants to offer a healthy menu. Diving unsinkable history.

Due to post-delivery procedures, a construction start date cannot be announced at this time, but construction should continue for another three years or so. In the meantime, here are some photos of the construction site and visuals of the project.
