A dozen people were arrested this Monday morning in Corsica as part of an anti-terrorism case. The operation, led by the anti-terrorist sub-directorate and the judicial police took place mainly in Haute-Corse but also in the Far South. The old and the new executive of Corsica Libera are concerned by these arrests. Activists of the movement also prevented for regarding an hour the transfer to the police station of one of the people arrested in the Saint-Antoine district, in Bastia, as shown by photos shared by the Facebook page of U Ribombu Internaziunale. His identity is not known at this time.
According to our information, Charles Pieri, former leader of the movement and presumed ex-leader of the FLNC, Ghjiseppu-Maria Verdi, his grandson, current leader of the independence party or Ghjuvan Battista Pieri, his son, head of the Ghjuventù Libera are among the people concerned by this wave of arrests.
