Anti-terror mission: no toxins in Castrop-Rauxel

On Sunday night, anti-terror investigators stormed an apartment in the Ruhr area and arrested a 32-year-old Iranian. The investigators suspected that he had substances that are classified as biological weapons of war.

Substances found during the search are examined on the premises of the fire brigade in Castrop-Rauxel.

kei./(dpa) On Sunday night, anti-terrorist investigators in protective suits stormed an apartment in the Ruhr area. A 32-year-old Iranian was suspected of having planned an Islamist attack. The investigators suspected that he had substances that are classified as biological weapons of war. They arrested the man and his 25-year-old brother, who was also present. The officials were accompanied by poison specialists from the Robert Koch Institute.
