Asunción, IP Agency.- The Anti-Kidnapping Department, dependent on the National Police, seeks to obtain its international certification to move from a reactive police force to a process-based one, focused on the goal of providing security to citizens, the head of said unit, Nimio Cardozo, reported this Wednesday. to Paraguay TV.
He explained that they are working, with financing from the Organization of American States (OAS), to be certified next August with the International Standard ISO 9001:2015, which has to do with quality management systems in general.
He said that they are adjusted to international standards, which mean that all investigative processes are transparent, auditable, and that they are subject to any international company that can come to see that what they are doing conforms to the quality standard.
With this result, the beneficiaries will be the end users, that is, the people who need the services and protection of the agents. “We have to work focused on citizens. The police must comply with the satisfaction of the users, who are all Paraguayans and foreigners who live in our territory,” he expressed.
He emphasized that what they are looking for “with international certification is to move from reactive police to process police. Today we are a reactive police force, what happened in Ciudad del Este, in Encarnación, the police react to a special situation.”
On the other hand, when the work is process-based, in addition to anticipating these possible scenarios, it is possible to foresee them and have a contingency plan in case they appear. “So it is the difference and that is why we are in this transformation process, through certification. Certifying a technical standard also implies changing the mentality and seeing the results,” he noted.
