Anthropologist Mirian Goldenberg will give a grand lecture in the XVII CONPARH

The anthropologist, researcher and teacher Mirian Goldenberg is one of the keynotes at the XVII CONPARH (Paraná Human Resources Congress). The event is promoted by the Brazilian Association of Human Resources of Paraná (ABRH-PR) and will be held on the 12th and 13th of April, at FIEP – Industry Campus. Mirian will be one of the speakers at the event on the day 13/04, at 9amas at Palestra Magna “Treading Time: Consciousness, Responsibility and the Search for Career Happiness Over the Years”. The lecture will be online and will be moderated by Gustavo Arns, founder of the Brazilian School of Holistic Sciences and also a speaker.

The choice for the theme of the main lecture maintains the connection with the CONPARH line: “People, companies and planet: that’s up to me!” and promises to bring the teachings of maturity.

“I have been researching since 1998 on happiness and the differences between men and women. For the past 30 years, I have focused on the issue of maturity. When we get older, or in maturity, which doesn’t always have to do with age, we start to value what is ours, what is unique, what is special. And not what others have and what we lack. Because missing will always be missed. And maturity is recognizing that what matters most is not what is missing, but what we have achieved”, explains Goldenberg, author of the book that makes up the research. “The invention of a beautiful old age”.

During the lecture, the anthropologist will address the change in values not only globally, but also individually in people’s lives, bringing a reflection on unhappiness, competition, comparison, dispute, hatred and anger generated by what we don’t have and what we supposedly other people have it. “I’m going to talk about my research over the last 30 years. About what I discovered about happiness from 5,000 people surveyed, but what I also discovered for my own happiness. And it’s work. Being happy takes work”, concludes Goldenberg.

In addition to being a Full Professor at the Department of Cultural Anthropology and the Postgraduate Program in Sociology and Anthropology at the Institute of Philosophy and Social Sciences at the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro, Mirian holds a PhD in Social Anthropology from the Postgraduate Program in Social Anthropology at the Museum National Institute of the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro.
