Anthony Santander hit two home runs on Wednesday in the Baltimore Orioles’ 7-3 victory over the Toronto Blue Jays, giving him his 34th home run this season in Major League Baseball.
The outfielder remains the leading home run hitter for the Venezuelan legion in the 2024 Major League season and was also important in his team’s victory at the Rogers Centre.
Santander hit a home run in the first inning of the game, with a teammate on base, to give the Orioles a 2-0 lead. Then, with the score at 4-3, he hit his second home run of the night, this time a solo home run, to extend the lead to two runs on the scoreboard.
The Margarita outfielder went 2-for-5 with two runs scored and three RBIs, reaching 78 in the current season.
It is worth noting that the Venezuelan slugger is having a record-breaking campaign on a personal level. With yesterday’s home runs, he has already surpassed his record of 33 in a single season, which he had achieved in 2022.
The victory also allows Baltimore to stay in the fight for first place in the American League East Division. They have a record of 68-47 and are tied for the lead with the New York Yankees.
