Antalya, popular with tourists, is sinking: after terrible rains, the city was under water

Antalya, a city on the Mediterranean coast known for its picturesque beaches and beautiful scenery, has been hit by flooding, flooding streets and causing significant inconvenience to many residents.

The gravity of the situation was captured in videos shared on social media, showing dozens of submerged cars and roads turned into raging rivers by floodwaters.

The flood that intensified during the night flooded the roads, making it difficult for pedestrians and vehicles to move. Homes and businesses were flooded in some rural areas of the region.

In the city center, water accumulated in several underground tunnels and disrupted traffic. Amid the chaos, a tragedy occurred – the body of an unidentified person was found in a submerged car in one of the tunnels without signs of life.

In response to the crisis, the Antalya authorities took immediate action to mitigate the effects of the flood. Schools were immediately closed to ensure the safety of students and staff, and flights were grounded as a precaution due to hazardous weather conditions.

As the floodwaters continued to rise, rescue services were called in to help flood victims and carry out rescue operations in flooded areas.
