ANSES and the Istituto Superiore di Sanità sign a scientific partnership Anse

Scientists from both organizations are already involved in numerous joint research projects within the framework of ” Horizon 2020 ” and of l’EJP One Health, European programs supporting research and innovation. They also carry out joint actions on subjects such as tobacco or nutrition, financed by the European Union.

As reference laboratories at national, European and international level, they work together to improve surveillance, detection and the fight once morest infectious diseases transmitted by food and the resistance of pathogens to antibiotic treatments.

ANSES and the ISS are also members of the association MedVetNet whose mission is to promote a “One Health” approach in order to combat zoonoses, antimicrobial resistance and to strengthen the quality of the food supply in the European Union.

This new agreement will materialize through the strengthening of their collaboration, through the exchange of knowledge and technical know-howas well as the sharing of advanced technologies at the service of ever more efficient scientific work.

The partnership will focus on themes such as nutrition, pathogenic organisms including zoonotic pathogens, viruses and chemical contaminants in food including endocrine disruptors and nanomaterials, or the impacts on health related to exposure to chemical substances.

The agreement was signed in Rome on Thursday by Professor Silvio Brusaferro, President of the ISS, and Dr Roger Genet, Director General of ANSES.
