This new agreement, lasting three years, reflects the desire of the two organizations to extend their collaboration initiated more than ten years ago to strengthen the analytical reference system with regard to three diseases presenting strong economic challenges. for French livestock: mucous membrane disease/bovine viral diarrhea (BVD), infectious bovine rhinotracheitis (IBR) and paratuberculosis.

This partnership will make it possible to continue, within the Niort site of Anses’ Ploufragan-Plouzané-Niort Laboratory, work aimed at having ever more efficient diagnostic tools in line with management measures. It will also make it possible to continue to develop research in support of these reference activities.

Over the last ten years, the Anses-GDSF collaboration has led to the strengthening of the activities of the National Reference Laboratory (LNR) for IBR, supported by the Anses de Niort site, to the appointment of an NRL for BVD and the creation of an expert laboratory for paratuberculosis, allowing the development and control of numerous reagents for the diagnosis of these three diseases. The research contributed to the acceptance by the European Union of the French IBR eradication program, to the establishment of a sanitation program for BVD and to the construction of a dedicated program to paratuberculosis.

Collaborations with GDS-France are also used by ANSES as part of its mission in epidemiological surveillance in animal health: the National Platform for Epidemiological Surveillance in Animal Health (ESA Platform) requires in particular a close partnership with stakeholders in the field. .

The renewal of the agreement with GDS-France and the strong involvement of the Nouvelle-Aquitaine Region strengthen the positioning of the Niort site and the Ploufragan-Plouzané-Niort laboratory of Anses as an innovation hub in animal health.
