Anriquelis Barrios could not make it in her debut and said goodbye to the Olympics

This Tuesday, July 30, Anriquelis Barrios debuted in the Olympic Games Paris 2024, where she was the flag bearer of the national delegation.

The judoka faced Algerian Anima Belkaldi in the -63 kilogram category, in a tough fight that was decided by the golden point.

Speaking to the Venezuelan Olympic Committee about her performance, the Venezuelan athlete said she feels calm and, above all, grateful.

“I would like to thank all Venezuelans for supporting us and me. I am very grateful to the people who have followed me for years and who know what I have been through and what this qualification process is like and to be here at the Olympic Games.”he said.

“All athletes need motivation and positive messages from all of you because that helps us a lot in this type of competition”said.

Anriquelis Barrios will continue forward

Barrios, who had a long road to qualify for the Olympics, said she will continue forward.

“Since I knew I was qualified, I was always very motivated and very happy. I don’t have the judo I had before, there are many things to improve, but we are going to keep going, we will see what comes next.”he indicated.

Finally, Anriquelis Barrios expressed that she has felt and lived her participation and stay in French lands.

“Since I set foot in the Olympic Village, I have enjoyed every moment of my time with my teammates. I hope they go all out, keep fighting for their dreams and go for that Olympic medal.”he said.
