Another unpleasant story haunts J. Džiugelis, who was embroiled in a scandal due to parliamentary funds

The journalists of the “Skaidrinam” initiative found out and announced this week that J. Džiugelis paid out more than 23 thousand during this term. euros for preparing activity reports of a member of the Seimas for his political campaign consultant, public relations specialist Mindaugas Ardišauskas, who recently became the head of the Responsible Gambling Business Association.

However, in the fall, the MP had to explain another story that affected his family. Then the LNK program KK2 announced that water from an illegally installed water supply line might be used in the house of the mother of Justas Džiugelis, a member of the Seimas, a member of the ruling conservative faction, in Lindiniškės, Vilnius district, where he allegedly lives.

Therefore, the water was not paid for, and it was flowing freely, the neighbors claimed.

J. Džiugelis claimed that this house never belonged to him, and he spent the night there, at his mother’s, because his permanent residence in Žvēryne was under renovation.

Then the member of the Seimas repeated that his mother denied having done something deliberately and illegally, that she was paying precisely for all the services.

“The water supply route in the village is the property of the water supplier – UAB “Nemenčinės komunalininkas”. However, in the KK2 storyline, pipes are shown – not from the mother’s plot, random images are shown as proof. If suddenly UAB “Nemenčinės municipal utility discovered that it supplied water to the residents unaccountably – this is its problem”, – the parliamentarian wrote on Facebook at the time.

“Nemenčinės Kommunalininkas”, which takes care of centralized water supply in this part of Vilnius district, and Vilnius district municipality did not agree with J. Džiugelius.

As stated, the contract for water supply and sewage treatment at this address has been signed, but an additional branch has been installed up to the meters. So it was calculated how much they would have to pay for the allegedly illegally used water: “According to the data provided by the water supplier, it is 2,442 cubic meters, and in monetary terms – 4,395 euros 60 cents.”

Both sides hold their own

After three months, as the Vilnius district municipality claims, the situation has not changed. It is said that both sides stick to their own, so the aforementioned amount for water has not been paid.

In January, A. Džiugelienė submitted a letter to UAB “Nemenčinės komunalininkas” regarding the deed on the cancellation of arbitrary connection to the water supply networks and the waiver of the rights of the specified claims to the amount of the debt calculated in the deed.
