At least three people were killed and four injured in a shooting in California on the 28th (local time), the Associated Press reported.
According to the Los Angeles Police Department, the shooting occurred at 2:30 am on the same day in Beverly Crest, famous for being an affluent town in Los Angeles.
Local police said three of the seven people who were shot dead were in vehicles and four others were standing outside. Police did not disclose the identity of the deceased, and the injured were taken to hospital but said they were in critical condition.
Local police explained that they did not have accurate information on the cause of the shooting or whether it occurred in a residential area.
This is the fourth mass shooting in California this month.
The shooting occurred a week following a shooting at a dance hall in the suburbs of Los Angeles killed 11 people and injured nine others, and on the 23rd, a mass shooting at a mushroom farm south of San Francisco killed seven people and injured one. It happened in just a few days.
The massacre dealt a blow to the state of California, which has some of the toughest gun laws in the country and one of the lowest gun death rates.
According to the U.S. Gun Violence Archive, the U.S. recorded more than 600 mass shootings in which four or more people were injured or killed by gunfire for the third consecutive year until last year.
