Sixth night in intensive care for Silvio Berlusconi, hospitalized at the San Raffaele in Milan for pneumonia. The former prime minister and leader of Forza Italia spent another “quiet” night according to hospital sources. Berlusconi, 86, has long been suffering from a form of chronic leukemia. At the moment he remains in the same ward, even if the medical bulletin released yesterday by the head physicians spoke of “progressive and constant improvement” in his conditions. Today, however, there would be no bulletins.
The medical bulletin
Silvio Berlusconi’s medical situation is therefore progressing day by day, so much so that his personal doctors, Alberto Zangrillo and Fabio Ciceri, for the first time since last Wednesday, i.e. since the Forza Italia president was hospitalized in the San Raffaele hospital in Milan reported a “cautious optimism”. The former prime minister is still in the intensive care unit, but in the last 48 hours there has been “a progressive and constant improvement in the monitored organ functions”, according to the medical bulletin issued by the head of the anesthesia and intensive care department of the San Raffaele and the Head of the Hematology and Bone Marrow Transplant and Oncohematology Units. The lung inflammation improves, just as the monocytes, the cause of the leukemia from which the Knight suffers, have decreased.
The visits continue
Even on Easter Monday there were daily visits from friends and relatives. Arrived within minutes of each other, Paolo Berlusconi, Cav’s brother, and the president of Mediaset Fedele Confalonieri, chatted with the leader of Forza Italia for half an hour, leaving without making any statements. Always present outside the San Raffaele, on the other hand, are the most loyal fans of the founder of Fi, joined today by Ettore Fragale, a 67-year-old former bank employee currently retired. Fragale left Cosenza yesterday evening and following a sixteen-hour journey he reached the Milanese hospital, in the hope of being able to leave some holy pictures and a small bottle of holy water from San Francesco di Paola with the family of “Uncle Silvio”.
“Carletto” Ancellotti, all anxious
A special thought for Berlusconi came from “Carletto” Ancellotti, who won four Champions Leagues with Milan del Cavaliere, two as a player and two as a coach. «We are all apprehensive and anxious, I am very close to him and I hope everything goes well. Berlusconi was, he is and will be a person much loved by everyone – concluded the coach -. He was a great president, who stimulated and helped in difficult moments and spiced up the good moments ». What relatives and supporters are doing with him now who are rooting for the Cavaliere inside and outside the San Raffaele.
