Another legal victory for Zion Williamson

In January 2021, Zion Williamson had won a first victory in his legal battle for a rather far-fetched agent story. To sum up, his former agent was asking him for $100 million in damages for abusive breach of contract.

A federal judge in North Carolina then considered that the agreement between the player and Gina Ford did not meet the prerogatives of the North Carolina law on sworn sports agents, also adding that the latter was not more authorized agent.

Eighteen months later, on July 15 precisely, the case was back in court and the Pelicans star won once more, the report tells us.AP.

It was Judge Loretta C. Biggs, like the first time, who rejected the requests of Gina Ford and her agency, who hoped to receive money for the work done with the player.

As in the first judgment, Williamson’s lawyer recalled that the player had finished his season at Duke in the rules, without ever being declared definitively ineligible by the NCAA. The judge agreed with this finding, also finding that there was no legal basis for the courts to decide whether or not the All-Star had violated NCAA rules.
