The victim was Alejandro Lozano, 54, who had to be transferred to a hospital.

Meanwhile, the man and woman who attacked and robbed him were able to escape without being captured so far. The victim’s taxi ended up crashed.

It all happened on Wednesday morning when a man and a woman boarded a taxi at a service station on Caraffa Avenue in the Bajo Galán neighborhood of Córdoba Capital.

The couple asked to be transferred to the Sol Naciente II neighborhood, official sources indicated.

Shortly following arriving at the destination, the man pulled out a knife from among his clothes and threatened the taxi driver to make him stop. Thus, a violent struggle occurred that led to a fight inside the cabin.

Under these circumstances, Lozano ended up stabbed in the armpit and suffered cuts on one hand. The thief and his accomplice took a wallet that contained approximately 10 thousand pesos and a cell phone, and forced the worker to get out of the vehicle.

This is how the criminals boarded the Fiat Siena taxi and escaped. A couple of kilometers away, already on a corner in the El Cerrito neighborhood, the thieves crashed into a parked car. Unable to continue further, the assailants ran away.

The assault is added to a series of robberies that taxi drivers, taxi drivers and even Uber drivers have been suffering for some time in the city of Córdoba.
