Free, the former Rouche has settled in Ligue 1.
Eliaquim Mangala has joined Ligue 1 bottom side AS Saint-Etienne.
The Frenchman, a former Standard defender, has signed up until the end of the season and arrives at a club that is playing for its survival in the top flight.
“I had projects, I took the time to think it over. But here we are talking regarding Saint-Etienne, a historic club in the French championship and therefore a very big challenge. I discussed it with my family, my agent, and I told them that Saint-Etienne is really the place where I should be, there is something to do. It is a club that deserves better than what it is currently experiencing. We will do things well. I’m very happy to be here,” Mangala said during his presentation.
“I have always lived in competition and been used to playing to win titles. There, another challenge awaits me, that of saving the club from the descent.”
Good last five points from the first non-relegable, ASSE travels to Bergerac in the cup this weekend before welcoming Montpellier in L1.
