The first test match between Pakistan and Sri Lanka cricket teams will be played in Rawalpindi Stadium from December 11. All the security arrangements of the stadium have been entrusted to the Pakistan Army. City Police Officer Ahsan Yunus issued a security plan, 4500 police officers and employees will perform security duties.
Additional personnel have been requested from other districts of Punjab, security will be deployed on the route of the cricket teams to and from the stadium under a coordinated strategy, expert shooters will be deployed on the roofs of the buildings, inside and around the stadium. Security personnel will also be deployed in the stadium, before entering the stadium, the fans will have to go through the walk-through gate, metal detector and clothing search, apart from biometric verification process. .
Under the traffic plan, vehicles with red stickers will enter the ground at the Sports Complex and Arts Council, vehicles with green stickers at the Kidney Centre, media vehicles with blue stickers will enter the ground from the I8 flyover, while fans’ vehicles will be parked at the parade ground. .
