The US dollar has dropped five pesos, now trading at $325.00 CUP. This drop reflects a continued adjustment in its value throughout the week.
The Freely Convertible Currency (MLC) has also dropped five pesos, settling at $285.00 CUP. This drop marks a notable change in the last 24 hours.
In some currency buying and selling groups in Cuba, offers for slightly lower values are still found. Such is the case of the Telegram group Cambio MLC. This is because the exchange rates are not homogeneous and can vary depending on the region and other factors.
The reality of supply and demand in a small municipality in the east of the country is not the same as in the capital. Many factors influence the value of foreign currency in the informal market, from the urgency of the person offering or seeking foreign currency, to the place where the transaction takes place, the amounts for sale and the condition or denomination of the banknote.
