another 40.8 million euros –

The Minister of Education and Merit, Giuseppe Valditara, signed a new decree today to finance a further 64 nursery schools, within the PNRR, for an amount equal to 40.8 million euros, of which 55% is allocated to the municipalities of the Southern regions. “Investing in nursery schools is a strategic choice for the future of our country. Every residual resource is immediately reinvested to create new places in the 0-2 year age group, so that the educational offer is improved from early childhood and the same opportunities are guaranteed to all children, regardless of their territories. Strengthening childcare services also means providing support to Italian families and in particular to working mothers. This is the direction of a Government and a Ministry that believe in the value of the person”, declared Minister Valditara.

The Ministry of Education and Merit will implement all the support procedures to support the municipalities in the implementation of the measures, as already done with the previous tenders which have in fact received a high participation rate also in the South. The simplification rules envisaged remain valid for PNRR interventions relating to school buildings.
