Kochi: Dileep’s brother Anoop and sister’s husband TN Suraj will not appear before the crime branch today in the case of attacking the actress. Anoop was asked to appear at 10 in the morning and Suraj at 2 in the followingnoon. But the information is that both are not in place. The crime branch had issued notices at the homes of the two yesterday asking them to appear at the police club today as they had not received several phone calls.
Actress Kavya Madhavan will also be questioned today in the case. The interrogation will be held at Dileep’s Padmasarovar home in Aluva. Kavya wanted to be questioned at home. But the investigation team directed him to reach the police club. Kavya’s position was that she had the right to decide where to question as a witness. Following the legal advice, the probe team decided to question Kavya at home.
Kavya is being questioned on the basis of Dileep’s conversations and director Balachandrakumar’s revelations. The forensic examination revealed that the information destroyed from Suraj’s phone contained a reference to Kavya. According to the crime branch, the role of Kavya Madhavan was hinted at. The question is to clarify this.
Kavya Madhavan is a witness in the case of attacking the actress. Kavya can determine the place for questioning as a woman and as a person on the witness list. This is what the probe team decided to question in Padmasarovar itself. The probe team had planned to question director Balachandra Kumar and Kavya for making revelations once morest Dileep. But the crime branch has not yet made a final decision on this.
Sai Shankar did not appear for questioning
Sai Shankar, who was found guilty of conspiracy to destroy evidence in the case, did not appear before the inquiry team. The Crime Branch was instructed to arrive Tuesday. He asked the probe team to postpone the interrogation to another day.
Saishankar had earlier said that the records on Dileep’s phone were destroyed. Of these, the statement is repeated to make it clearer. The court had on Monday recorded Saishankar’s statement.
